A highly skilled pharmacist Muhammad Iqbal passed away today in Islamabad, Pakistan (inna-lillahi-wa-inna-ilayhi-rajiun).

inna-lillahi-wa-inna-ilayhi-rajiun

Prof. Dr. Bashir Ahmad, Riphah Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Lahore), Prof. Dr. Nadeem Irfan Bukhari -Principal, University College of Pharmacy, University of the Punjab (UCP-PU), Prof. Dr. Khalid Hussain Dean UCP-PU, Mr. Abdul Aleem President Pharmacist Federation (Pakistan), Mr. Mushtaq Chaudhay President Pakistan Pharmacist Association (PPA), Mr. Ihsan Khan General Secretary PPA – KPK, Dr. Taha Nazir Ex Preside Pharmacist Federation (Pakistan), Muhammad Shamoon Ch. Ex-Secretary Punjab Pharmacy Council, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Yasin Ex-Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Sargodha and Prof. Dr. Khalid Madni President Tanzeem e Asatiza Distt. Sargodha  has condoled the sad demise and share deep sorrow with family of Muhammad Iqbal.

Originally M. Iqbal belongs to the Quetta Baluchistan and has worked with Pharmaceutical Industrial Unit, University of Sargodha, Pakistan. He has obtained the drug manufacturing license from Drug Regulatory Authority (DRAP) Pakistan in 2017.

The major expertises of Muhammad Iqbal were drug designing, formulation, drug manufacturing and drug jurisprudence. Moreover, he was excellent drug expert with extra ordinary skills of social and public relations. He was honest, brave and hardworking person.

Additionally, he has effectively struggled against corruption, dishonesties and irregularities. Because he believed that the industrial unit may not be successful without honest and dedicated team. But, unluckily the existing dishonest, corrupt and incompetent Dean of pharmacy, University of Sargodha has successfully conspirated and removed him from his service. So, he filed the appeal to the Syndicate of University to re-instate his employment. That was declined by worthy vice chancellor Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad. Afterward he filed application in the office of Chancellor and/ or Governor Punjab Ch. Muhammad Sarwer. That is still pending, waiting for the decision of worthy governor. Mr. M. Iqbal was a courageous, competent and determined pharmacist. He was ambitious to file his petition in high court and/ or Supreme Court of Pakistan. Because he has never ever shown his intention to surrender and stop working against the corruption. He firmly believed that he has been illegally and unethically removed from his employment. The only reason of his termination was “exposing the corruption and dishonesties of the Dean pharmacy, University of Sargodha”.

So, we declared our friend as “Hero of Pharmacy”. He is our role model and we shall not forget his contribution for pharmacy profession, pharmacist community and academic staff of the pharmaceutical institutions in Pakistan. We heartedly acknowledged his services, inputs and contributions.

May God the departed soul rest in peace and Jannah.

May Allah grant Sabr and courage to the family of Br. Iqbal to bear this loss.
