Molecular biology is the branch of biology that deals with the nature of biological phenomena at the molecular level. It is primarily concerned with understanding and the interactions between the various systems of a cell, including the interactions between the different types of DNA, RNA and protein biosynthesis as well as learning how these interactions are regulated. This field overlaps with other areas of biology and chemistry, particularly genetics and biochemistry. Biotechnology is a field of applied biology that involves the use of living organisms and bioprocesses in engineering, technology, medicine and other fields. It encompasses a wide range of procedures for modifying living organisms according to human needs and draws on the pure biological sciences including genetics, microbiology, animal cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry, embryology and cell biology. In many instances, it also depends on the knowledge and methods from outside the sphere of biology such as chemical engineering, bioprocess engineering, information technology, biorobotics. Targeted Participants Young biological researchers & post graduate scholars from public & private sectors universities actively involved in biological and medical research. Selection of the Participants The relevance of the applicant’s current job to the workshop will be the sole criteria for selection. The intending participants are required to apply through their respective institutions. Travel and Local Hospitality The participants are required to arrange their own travel costs. However, COMSTECH will provide local hospitality including meal and accommodation to the selected participants only. Application There is no registration fee for participation in the workshop.
