Pharmacist Strive KPK Manifesto for PPA Elections, 2015

Pharmacist Strive KPK has declared their Manifesto for PPA Elections, 2015 as under;

  1. Working for creating friendly and cooperative environment among pharmacists and between pharmacists/physicians & other health care professionals.
  2. Making students as an active participants/members of PPA by forming student wings in each university of province.
    To maintain honor & dignity of pharmacy profession and to protect the interests, rights and privileges of the members of the association and to develop spirit amongst members for doing their duty in all aspects of the national and individual level.
  3. To associate cooperate or affiliate with National or International organizations holding similar aims and objectives.
    Arranging regular meetings of cabinet for better/strong/efficient association.
    Arranging regular professional and scientific seminars/workshops/training programs/news letters.
    In case of Emergency/tragic/sudden death of a pharmacist, PPA will try to support the educational expenses of their children.
  4. A website of council will be launched with a directory of registered pharmacists that all the professionals should seem to be united.
    Proper restructuring of pharmacy council will be done especially in issuing of category A registrations to graduates & issuing of registration card like PMDC or PEC.
  5. Drug Testing laboratories on Divisional level.
  6. Establishment of separte pharmacy directorate.
  7. Continuous education system in collboration with pharmacy council.
  8. To work for obtaining all the aims and objectives of Pakistan Pharmacist Association.
  9. Community Pharmacy:
  10. Amendment in pharmacy act to establish retail pharmacy according to international standards and to combat illegal practice of Pharmacy in the Province.
  11. Community pharmacies must have pharmacists in pharmacies thus creating hundreds of Jobs opportunities.
  12. To conduct community pharmacy training and awareness workshops for pharmacist community under supervision and guidance of renowned internationally registered pakistani community pharmacists practicing abroad in technologically advanced countries.
  13. To conduct general public and other health professionals awareness programs regarding the importance of community pharmacy in the health-care system.
  14. To establish model community pharmacies for proper practical training of young pharmacists at district level at least.
  15. To invite donors and investors/Government Loans to help in establishing community pharmacy setups for those pharmacists who are interested in their pharmacy business
  16. Drug inspectors: The number of provincial drug inspectors should be increased so that there is one drug inspector for each Tehsil/ should be increased in terms of medical stores in city/district/tehsil and accordingly supporting staff will be appointed with each drug inspector.One district drug inspector shall be appointed to supervise and monitor the performance of tehsil drug inspectors.
  17. One regional drug inspector shall be appointed to supervise and monitor the performance of 4 or 5 district drug inspectors.
  18. The drug inspectors are not equipped with office accommodation & vehicles. The federal gov & provincial gov shall procure vehicles for drug inspectors on whole time basis.
  19. Each drug inspector should be given a telephone and fax facility with at least 10000/ limit per month.
  20. An incentive policy may be incorporated for officers who detect serious cases of spurious/expired/grossly substandard drugs thereby save many lives.
  21. Every year, federal and provincial governments should recommend at least two officers for awards who worked beyond the call of their duty/performed extraordinary to ensure the availability of quality, safe and effective drugs to public.
  22. Those officers who detect cases that involve saving of human life/alleviating their miseries, be given cash prizes/civil/gallantry awards on the analogy of anti Narcotic Force/Police/FIA/Custom as their lives, families and careers are at great risk once they take effective action against culprits who are quite resourceful and have very long tentacles.
  23. Hospital Sector: Hospital pharmacy be organized on scientific lines to harness the potentials and capabilities of pharmacists in accordance with the role defined by WHO to ensure availability of safe and quality drugs in hospitals.
  24. After the creation of 119 posts which will be advertised soon so to take it to final level, after teaching hospitals to district hospitals on same formula of pharmacist on each 50 beds will be implemented
  25. Arranging 3 months training orientation for the fresh 119 pharmacists to be appointed a step towards clinical pharmacy setup.
  26. Professional allownce for pharmacist. One model pharmacy on the pattern of Agha Khan University hospital/Liaqat National Hospital Karachi be established in government hospitals with 500 beds.
    5.One Principal pharmacist (20), one chief Pharmacist (19), one senior pharmacist (18), and Pharmacists (17) in each hospital.
  27. Industrial Sector: Salary of fresh pharmacist: Starting salary of fresh pharmacists must be equal to grade 17
  28. Pension/gratuities, provident funds for pharmacists working in industries & private organizations i.e private sectors universities.
  29. Appointment letter mentioning terms and conditions i.e salary, leaves, termination etc.
  30. Registration with EOBI & ESSI.
